100 Greatest Movies List

The AFI recently came out with their list.
This is my list.

Its quite a task to list your top 100. The first 60 roll off easily. The last 20 are difficult because you are deciding if a movie will make the cut. After 100, if I see another movie that I want in this list - then something has to come out.

Watch for comments as I edit this list as I see more movies.

I encourage all movie lovers to develop their own list. It's a great way to look at film more critically.

  1. Great idea, Glenn.

But I don't see Dr Strangelove on the list... oversight?

  2. Dr Strangelove needs to go in this list. I'm taking out #38 Father of the Bride. Funny Steve Martin film but could I leave it in and justify not having Dr Strangelove in? I don't think so.

  3. Lots of recent films! There are quite a few on your list that I have never seen. I can see a trip to the video store in my future. Thanks!

  4. Saw Three Burials Of Melquiades Estrada - and it blew me away. I removed Apollo to make room for it.

I'll do a new post on the movie.

  5. Dilemma...

I need to get Station Agent in this list. Possible spots are The Great Escape or maybe Fight Club.

This is hard to do. Maybe I should go with my top 200...
